Bodnant fundraising team presents another large donation to Ty Gobaith

For the eighth year running, Bodnant Garden Centre in Tal y Cafn, Conwy was transformed into a magical Grotto to raise funds for Ty Gobaith Children’s Hospice.

Angela Vaughan Thomas, said, “We had a fantastic turnout this Christmas at Santa’s Grotto. Almost 600 happy children visited our beautiful Winter Wonderland to spend some time with Santa and his Elves in his grotto, each child receiving their own special gift and a Santa certificate.”

Angela continues, “A grand total of £685.26 was eventually raised for a very worthwhile cause and a charity which is very close to our hearts.”

Ty Gobaith is a beautiful 'home from home' with stunning views across the Conwy estuary. The site was chosen for the peace and tranquillity it affords the children and families who visit. The hospice opened in 2004 and provides care and support to children and their families living in North Wales, many of whom speak Welsh as a first language.

Beverley Bradley of Ty Gobaith said, “I would sincerely like to thank all the team at Bodnant Garden Centre for all their support over the years in raising many thousands of pounds for our cause. Fundraising is vital so that we can provide the care and support that our children, young people and families so desperately need. We must raise over £6.3 million every year to maintain our services.”

Bodnant will be running more fundraising activities this year, as part of a programme of Community events planned over the coming months at the centre.
