Bodnant raises big smiles at Ysgol y Gogarth School

Bodnant Garden Centre in Tal y Cafn, Conwy, was recently transformed into a magical Grotto to raise funds for Ysgol y Gogarth special school in Llandudno.

Brian Alcock, Managing Director at Bodnant, said, “We are very pleased that we are able to donate £556.28 to Ysgol y Gogarth. It is a wonderful, happy place which has been selected as a pioneer school for other similar schools throughout Wales.”

Ysgol y Gogarth is a day and residential special school currently catering for approximately 235 pupils between the ages of 3 and 19. The school overlooks the beautiful bay of Llandudno and is within four miles of the A55 expressway.

Lisa Kovacs, spokesperson for the school said, “We are very grateful for this generous donation from our friends at the Bodnant Garden Centre. We are looking forward to putting the donation to good use by purchasing some new sensory and outdoor play equipment. Thank you so much!”

Alongside the school provision, Llys Gogarth is a purpose-built residential facility. It offers an integrated residential education and developmental care package to children and young people up to the age of 19.

Brian continues, “We will be running more fundraising activities this year, as part of a programme of community events planned over the coming months.”
